Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians Welcome Sashi Guthikonda, M.D. To Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (March 25, 2010) – Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians welcome Sashi Guthikonda, M.D., MPH, FACC, to their medical team beginning Monday, March 8. Dr. Guthikonda will be joining Drs. Bleuez, Dan, Dhruva, Gradek, Kantipudi, Murthy, Olubi, Pettus, Sangha, Sarin and Vellanikaran in the Fayetteville office at 1267 Highway 54 West, Suite 2200.

Dr. Guthikonda earned his medical degree from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. He earned his master of public health degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. He then completed his internship at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Penn. and residency in internal medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa. Dr. Guthikonda is a member of the American Heart Association, and a fellow with the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.

Prior to joining the Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians, Dr. Guthikonda was a cardiologist with Methodist DeBakey Heart Center at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. In an academic capacity, he has served as interventional cardiologist with Methodist DeBakey Cardiology Associates; clinical assistant professor at The University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas; assistant professor, department of medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York and was a member of The Methodist Hospital Research Institute in Houston, Texas.
