ATLANTA (Sept. 9, 2008) – Piedmont Physicians Group welcomes Robin R. Pyburn, M.D., and Michelle A. Emrich, M.D. Drs. Pyburn and Emrich are board-certified in internal medicine.
Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians Group, both physicians practiced at Britton & Pyburn, P.C. on the Piedmont Hospital campus. Dr. Pyburn earned her medical degree from the Washington University School of Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine at St. Luke's Hospitals, St. Louis City Hospital (Washington University). Dr. Emrich earned her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health in Columbus, Ohio and completed her residency in internal medicine at Emory University here in Atlanta.
Dr. Emrich was a National Merit Scholar and received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry and medical anthropology from Rice University in Houston, Texas. She worked for 1996 Nobel Prize laureate Dr. Richard E. Smalley, running his carbon nanotube production facility before moving on to medical school, where she was an honor student, and then internal medicine residency, where she received a Commendation for Outstanding Performance as an internal medicine intern. Dr. Pyburn has an incredible wealth of experience, having practiced internal medicine for more than 25 years. She received her bachelor’s degree in history cum laude from the University of Texas.
